Licube’s Core Technology

Licube’s platform combines Electrodialysis (ED) with Lithium Lanthanum Titanate (LLTO) solid electrolytes, enabling both ultra-pure lithium production and isotope separation. As lithium ions selectively pass through LLTO, impurities are removed in a single step — achieving levels of purity unattainable with conventional chemical refining.

Because this separation is based on ion mobility, the same mechanism can be cycled repeatedly to distinguish even the slight differences between lithium isotopes. In other words, a single core technology enables both ultra-pure lithium compounds and lithium isotope enrichment, providing a unified path from advanced materials to fusion energy applications.

Some results have already been validated in peer-reviewed publications, while further advancements remain protected under patents and proprietary know-how at Licube.

Conventional processes stop at battery-grade (99.5%). Licube’s three-electrode, dual-power-supply electrochemical pumping system selectively transfers lithium ions through LLTO, achieving extraction rates hundreds of times faster than conventional methods.
